TIMELINES

In this section, you will learn about task-related topics and the timelines in which they should be completed. This is designed to provide a guide and not necessarily deadlines. These are generic tasks. Some age groups may have different tasks needed. Those tasks will be communicated from the age group DOC. If you have any questions about these tasks, please let us know.

January is a relatively slow month. If team fees are due, now is a good time to send a collection reminder or to discuss the team’s spring budget. If you have not done so, planning for your team’s spring tournament(s) should be completed by this month. Some teams may elect to pick up late spring events based on the SLYSA schedule and their availabilities.

In February, the spring team training schedule starts usually around the second week of February. By now, the SLYSA schedule has been released for the spring.

Team fee collections are still being tracked.

The spring season is underway and any early spring tournaments need to be applied for. Any out of town trips need to have a Travel Permit applied for.

SLYSA spring fees due. Each team must submit a team fee payment to pay for their league fees. SLYSA only accepts league payments from the club.

Most all team fees should be collected by now. The longer into the spring season you allow team fees to be paid, the harder they are to get collected.

Make sure you register for the Rush Mother’s Day tournament.

In May, the club will host ID sessions for interested players to help build teams for the upcoming season.

Teams will need to register with Rush as a returning team for the following season. This registration form will be shared with all the team managers and coaches. This is what will be used to help build the tryout schedule as well as the player registration.

June is tryout time and the team formation period. Tryouts are usually scheduled for the second Sunday in June. Teams should be getting commitments from their returning players as well as planning their next year’s budget. Being prepared will help team managers and coaches discuss options with potential players that want to join your team.

Players should start registering for the club.

SLYSA registration opens

Summer team events such as 3v3’s or just simply a break from soccer is a good idea.

Coaches and Managers should be completing their USYS profiles in order to be included in the roster. Details will be emailed out from the club.

Team managers should be working with the club registrar (or DOC) for player registration tracking. The DOC Master sheets are distributed and starting to be collected. These sheets are the building blocks of each team’s roster and uniform ordering (if applicable).

SLYSA registration closes
