Roster Offers
Only after the official tryout date can a player be officially offered a roster spot. Prior to tryouts, coaches can answer questions from parents and interested players about Rush and what opportunities there are for their child.
Player Selections
Each month, we receive around 75-100 interested players. These players are evaluated by staff and coaches to see what level the player would be best suited for. If you are looking for players, you should be in contact with your DOC so he can help make sure your needs are being met.
During ID sessions and tryouts, the goal is to place like skilled players with like skilled teams. The DOC’s will be in charge of helping place players in the right environment.
Rostering FAQ
There are always lots of questions about how rosters work and what is allowed. This section will touch on some of the most frequently asked questions.
Primary vs Secondary vs Guest Players
Primary players are players that are committed to the team above other rostering commitments. Primary players should attend all team events for his or her primary team. Primary players are registered with their primary club.
Secondary players are primaried on another team while rostered on a second team. Secondary players attend events for the secondary team when his or her schedule allows. A player can be rostered on any second team regardless of the playing level. Secondary players can be from any club so long as the clubs agree. A secondary player form will be needed to place the player on the roster from outside the club. Any player that is a Rush player can be secondary as well. Please work with your DOC for secondary approvals.
Guest players are players that are only playing in a certain event or game for another team other than their primary team. Guest players for league play can only come from the team’s club and not a player from outside the club. Tournaments may allow guest players as well. You should research the event’s rules to fully understand their rules for guest players. A guest player form is needed for guest players for most tournaments. Rush players guest playing with another Rush team in league play will only need the player’s ID card. All guest players can NOT play down. Meaning a Div 1 player can’t guest play on a Div 2 team.
Rostering costs
Missouri Rush has its own registrar for roster management. Primary players cover their fee to be placed on a USYS team through the Step 2 registration process. All coaches and managers as well as secondary player fees are team fees.
Coaches / Managers = $11.00
Secondary = $9.00
Roster Changes
Roster changes can be made all season long. Certain events like State Cup and Presidents Cup have roster freeze dates. Those dates are for that event specifically.

Expectations
See the topics below for additional info related to Coach/Player/Parent expectations
Coaching Expectations
Each coach at Missouri Rush should adhere to the Rush Coaches Code of Conduct
Player Expectation
Each Rush player should know and understand the Rush Core Values as well as adhere to the Rush Players Standard of Conduct.
Parent Code of Conduct
Please share the Parent Expectations with your families. This will help have further conversations and provide you with information to reflect on.
Communicating with your Families
It is very important that coaches communicate with their teams on a regular basis. Keeping your parents informed and on the same page as the coach/team helps create #unity as well as buy-in to what you are teaching the players and what direction you are taking the team.
Weekly emails reflecting the previous week’s games and training sessions while also looking forward and providing direction is a true key to success.
Team Meetings
The Missouri Rush office can be used for team or parent meetings. If you wish to use the office for a meeting, please contact Alex Riggs
